Does Your Furnace Need Repair or Replacement?

Winter isn’t over yet! That means your furnace will need to be reliable, no matter what the weather throws our way. Is your heating system up to the task? If it’s not reliable, you might wonder if a repair will do the job or if a full replacement is needed. We can help!

Should you repair your furnace?
Our trained and licensed team of heating and cooling specialists at Hybrid Heating and Air Conditioning can identify what’s causing your furnace problem quickly and get things repaired. If your furnace is a decade old or less, a repair is usually the best solution to get the system running smoothly. If the repair is less than a third of the cost of a new heating system and the system is not more than 10 years old, repairs are a good option.

However, if your heating system is upwards of 20 years old and you’ve found that more and more repairs are needed, it’s probably time to think about a replacement. Throwing money into an old, inefficient heating system is a waste of money in the long run. On the other hand, a new furnace is a reliable source of heat for years to come. Not to mention, it will also help you save on energy bills.

What benefits are there to having a new furnace?

  1. That’s good to know that generally, a repair would be the best option for a newer furnace. I have a fairly new one that came with my house, so repair might be the best way to get it working again. It might be a good idea to have a repairman take a look at it to see if I should repair or replace it, just so I know the best option for my specific furnace.

  3. I like how you explained that if your heater is less than a decade old then it is better to have it simply repaired. My home’s heating system stopped working yesterday and I am not sure why. It is only a couple of years old so I’ll call a technician to come out and repair it for me.
